Why I'm being transparent about this
Transparency is one of my core values. So when it comes to how this website was built, I want to be completely upfront with you.
This site was created using an AI tool called Commet, part of the Sintra AI platform. But AI didn't run the show — I did. Every page, every word, every decision about what goes on this site came from me, Shane Grocke.
How it works
Think of it like this: I'm the architect and the AI is the builder. I described what I wanted, provided all the content, made all the decisions — and the AI turned those instructions into a working website.
The AI doesn't have opinions about local government policy. It doesn't know our community. It doesn't decide what matters to residents of Normanville, Yankalilla, or the wider district. That's all me.
What the AI did

- ✓Helped rewrite Council policies into plain English (from content I provided)

- ✓Reviewed and approved everything before it went live
- ✓Directed changes, corrections, and improvements throughout
- ✓Supplied my own photographs of the region
- ✓Made sure the information is accurate and honest
Why use AI at all?
I'm a one-person campaign. I don't have a team of designers, developers, or copywriters behind me. Using AI tools meant I could build a professional, accessible website without a large budget — keeping costs low and putting my energy where it matters most: connecting with residents.
It also reflects something I genuinely believe: that new technology, used thoughtfully and transparently, can help local government and community organisations do more with less.
As someone with a background in IT, I'm comfortable working with these tools. But I also know that technology is only as good as the human guiding it — and I've been hands-on throughout every step of this project.
A note on the Policies Easy Read section
The plain-English policy summaries on this site were created by me using AI to help simplify the language. I provided the official Council policy documents, and the AI helped rewrite them in plain English. I reviewed every word. These are guides only — the official Council policies are always the authoritative source.
The bottom line
This website is mine. The ideas are mine. The values are mine. The commitment to this community is mine.
AI helped me build it faster and more affordably than I could have alone — but every decision, every word of substance, and every claim on this site has been put here by me, Shane Grocke, and I stand behind all of it.
